Hello,

a bit about me:

Hello everyone, my name is Bao Thach (Thạch Truyền Bảo). I am currently a Ph.D. Computer Science student at the University of Utah advised by Dr. Alan Kuntz and Dr. Tucker Hermans. I am broadly interested in robot learning, a field at the intersection of machine learning and robotics. Currently at the U, I focus my research on surgical robot automation and deformable object manipulation.

Before joining the U, I spent four years at Texas Christian University where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (Summa Cum Laude). During my college time, I also interned at ABB Robotics and the University of Texas.

I was the recipient of the Dean Scholarship (full-tuition scholarship) from Texas Christian University, the Ph.D. Fellowship from the University of Utah, and the Graduate School Fellowship from Vingroup.

About myself, I was born into a Vietnamese family in Quang Ngai, Vietnam. I fortunately grew up in a wonderful family with my dad being an engineer and my mom being a teacher. I love basketball, ping pong, and swimming. My dream is to become a research scientist.
